What is Milizia?
Milizia is a public roleplay group. The general theme revolves around a prestigious military academy located in the Switzerland Alps, during modern times, on the verge of World War III. Please keep in mind that Milizia is focused on art, roleplay, and character development.

How do I apply?
Successfully joining the group requires you to create a solid, interesting character of your own. Merely read all the informative journals carefully! If you are a first-timer at rp groups, please visit Character Creation for a step-by-step process.

Do I have to be active?
We strongly encourage that you be active, through both roleplay and art, but the minimum requirement would be to participate in the quarterly Missions assigned to the Students. Most of what occurs in Milizia happens in the chatroom. Above all, I encourage being active in the chatroom.

Are any Commander/Officer positions still available?
All moderator positions have been filled up, and will most likely never open again in the future. You may only apply as a Student.

What is the least applied for Division/Year/Gender?
    It is a mystery. :iconheeheplz:

I was an old member and I am using the same character. Do I have to reapply with the new application sheet? What about my previous weapon?
Yes. Your character must also be updated with the new application template, Uniform, etc. in order to get the automatic acceptance. This is a great chance to revamp your character sheet if you wish to do so. Unfortunately, all characters will have to relinquish whatever weapons they previously owned and use the standard one provided.

I was an old member and I am using the same character.  Is it all right if I increase my character's Year?
So long as it is the next consecutive Year (ie. Junior upgrading to Senior).

What counts as a major change if I am using the same character?
Division changes, gender changes, hair and eye color changes (Note: If your character's hair was dyed previously, you are permitted to have it change back to its natural color. Otherwise, no exceptions.), unexplained transformations in behavior, and major history changes are counted as major changes and will cause your character to be considered as a different character than before.

I am not sure if my application is all right. Can I have it checked?
So long as it is before application submission date, yes. Please note the group your character and we will be happy to look it through!

I just realized that I will not be here during the enrollment period in order to submit my join request! Is there any way I can submit early/later?
Unfortunately not, seeing how if an exception is made for one, it must be made for all. However, it is entirely possible that you can find a trusted person to submit your application for you through your account. This requires you to share your deviantArt password, so please be wise. If you miss this enrollment, there is always next!

Does my character have to start at Freshman Year or can we choose?
    You may choose your Year.

If we do apply for a Year other than Freshman, does that mean the Student went through the previous Years as well?
    Yes.

What ages are each Year? How old is a Freshman/Junior/Senior?
There are no specific age limitations per Year. However, most students enter Milizia as a Freshman shortly following high school education. 17 or older is therefore the general age of all Students. If your character is beneath that age line, it would be best if you provided a description of why he/she entered Milizia so early. Likewise, if your character joins Milizia far into adulthood (late 20's or so), describe why he/she applied tardy.

Can my character be granted a scholarship by Academy Milizia?
Absolutely not. Academy Milizia does not directly pass out scholarships of any kind.

Do students need basic military training before applying to Milizia?
Basic military training is not a necessary prerequisite for becoming a student at Milizia.

Is it okay if some of my Stat numbers are 0?
It is completely normal if one or even two of your Stats are 0. In fact, it is recommended that your Stat points are mainly focused on 2-3 of the different Stat categories rather than spreading the points too thin. After all, there are only 10 initial points given to spread among 6 different categories.

Can I use a moderator's character in character's history?
If you have gained permission from the moderator, then by all means. Otherwise, please refrain from doing so.

Before you begin asking questions about the Dress Code, please check to see if your answer is provided here: fav.me/d57sys8

Do both Uniforms belong to the Student?
Upon entry, all Students are provided with two Uniforms, a simple pair of black gloves, and two pairs of shoes: black dress shoes and plain knee-length black boots (no laces, no buckles). Females have the alternatives of skirts or heels. Students are not permitted to "combine" Uniform designs. Uniform 1 consists of a Year-colored Blazer, Year-colored ankle-length pants OR knee-length skirt. Uniform 2 consists of a Year-colored Overcoat, and Year-colored ankle-length pants (or optional default black pants).

Can I change the color of the tie/inner shirt?
    Yes.

Can the length of the coat be shortened?
    No.

Can the blazer/coat be left open? Can something be worn underneath?
Yes. Typically beneath the uniform is just the dress shirt, and it is recommended that you keep it this way.

Are shorts permitted?
So long as the shorts reach the knees. Please keep in mind that the students are provided with two pairs of ankle-length pants; the shorts are therefore rolled up unless your character decides to cut them off shorter.

Can gloves be fingerless?
All gloves come with the fingers attached. If your character removes the fingers, the removal is permanent, until you purchase a new pair.

Does seam removal count as a major change?
Yes. The only seams that you are safe to remove are the ones located down the sleeves. Otherwise, please keep all seams intact.

How exactly is Milizia's hierarchy system set up?
At the very top of the pyramid is the Administration team: The Headmaster, Head Officers, and the Disciplinary Division. While the Headmaster is the apex of the entire system, the Head Officers and Disciplinary branch off directly underneath him: they share different parts of the Headmaster's authority and report to none other than the Headmaster. It is arguable whether the Head Officer or the Disciplinary has more power, as the Head Officer deals with the inner workings of the Academy itself and has a more personal relationship with the Headmaster while Disciplinaries serve to physically enforce all of the Academy's rules. Branching off beneath the administration are the 7 Divisions: Combat, Defence, Medic, Intelligence, Artillery, Air Force, and Navy. The leaders of each of these Divisions are named Commanders, and they serve as the primary instructors for all the Students in their Divisions. Officers are in fact Students, chosen to stand out above the others for their outstanding performances. In a way, they resemble Prefects, given certain privileges that regular Students are not.

When do Students take military training?
The moment Students enter the Academy, they are exposed to a military environment.  Most basic military training occurs within the first Year, leaving the following Years to be devoted to specialty training and advanced skills. The Student's Division will decide what field the Student will specialize in.

What is Student life like?
Extremely busy! Students are drilled with a tight daily schedule, filled with classes, sessions, and so on. With a strongly enforced hierarchy system, much of the Student's instruction will be strict and formal.

Do Students have time for fun?
Despite the busy schedules, there is still plenty of time for recreation and relaxation. Students of all Divisions and Years will have chances to meet one another in their spare time; sports are offered as a productive way of killing time.

Are Students allowed to own vehicles?
No. Only Air Force, Defence, and Navy students may be able to drive a vehicle as their 'own', but they do not ever gain complete ownership of the machine. All vehicles and equipment belong directly to the Headmaster and the UN.

How much vacation and free time is there?
Academy Milizia only allows optional Winter and Spring leaves, each only lasting about a week long, as it is difficult and expensive to travel in and out of the Academy. Free time, on the other hand, is constantly available throughout the day. There are several days throughout the Year when the schedule is cleared of training and sessions, typically on a holiday (ie. Thanksgiving) or a special occasion (ie. funeral, celebration, etc.)

What are dormitory rooms like?
Housing 2-3 Students per room, dormitories are separated by Division and gender. All rooms are very modern and include a personal bathroom. Students are also provided a lounge, recreational rooms, and study rooms.

Where do the Students eat their meals?
Students dine together in the Mess Hall every breakfast, lunch, and supper. Supper is optional.

What currency do they use?
As the Academy is currently located in Switzerland, the Swiss Franc (CHF) will probably be the most common form of currency here. Other currencies such as the US Dollar or the Euro can of course be exchanged in return for the national currency.

How much pay does a Student receive?
Freshmen are paid over 900 USD a month, which equates to approximately 878.5 CHF. The amount increases with every Year. While most of this pay goes towards expenses for Uniforms, classes, materials, and housing, some is left for personal use. It is very possible that the Headmaster may cut your pay down on a whim.

What is PDA?
PDA stands for Public Display of Affection. While it is probably bound to happen, please keep in mind that PDA is against the school rules. If Students are caught displaying affection in front of a superior, they will face the consequences depending on how harsh the superior is. If they manage to get away with it, then please remember that everything in the chatroom is PG15.

Can my character be in a relationship?
Yes. Same rules with PDA apply.

Do students have a schedule/curfew?
Yes. All Students are to wake promptly at 6:55 AM every morning. Lights are turned out at midnight. Any Students caught breaking curfew will face the consequences.

How do the characters get around the Academy? Transportation systems?
As several of the Academy's mountains are hollow, high-tech elevators run down the course of the inside, straight from top to bottom of the mountains, and even underground. For transportation between mountains, a form of advanced mountain lifts can take Students across any distance.

What happens if my character disrespects a superior?
It depends heavily on the individual superior and the level of disrespect displayed. The administration team tends to be less forgiving than the Divisionary Commanders.

Will characters die?
    Yes.

What happens if I kill my character? Can I reapply?
If you choose to kill your character, you will be given only one opportunity to create another character and reapply without it being enrollment time. We will have to check over this application before it can be accepted. If you kill your character a second time, you will simply have to wait till the next enrollment comes. This is prevent members from killing off their characters without good purpose.

Can I have NPCs?
At this point in time, no.

What is the Merit System?
It resembles a point system for the members of the group; Merits do not exist for actual characters. Characters in roleplay will use actual-world currencies.

Are Merits transferable?
    No.

What is the Inventory?
There are two Inventories in Milizia: One of them is your own and the other is the Academy's. The Academy's Inventory lists all the purchasable items available. Personal inventories are used to list what items you have bought or earned. Both inventories should be updated when items are lost or gained.

How will Merits and purchases be kept track of?
Besides each member personally recording their information on the application, we will have a Masterlist of all of the Academy's members, including their Inventory and Merits.

Are all Events mandatory?
There are two types of Events: Minievents and Missions. Minievents are never mandatory, but Missions are. If the Academy fails to complete a Mission, the consequences may directly affect the Students. For instance, the previous Mission's failure resulted in the destruction of the school.

Are Events art-based or chat-based? What if I don't prefer using dA chatrooms?
All Events are typically both art-based and chat-based. Both methods of participation will earn you Merits. Chatroom participation is not required but it is highly recommended, as most developments will occur in the chatroom.

Are extra Merits granted for participating in Events?
Yes. Missions are granted more Merits than Minievents.

We are extremely strict about artwork. Your artwork must be your own. Whether it be a Daily Life submission or your application, if there is any suggestion that your artwork was not drawn specifically by the you, traced, or copied in any way or form, you will be declined or instantly expelled.
There are no second chances for art thieves. Commissioning another individual to draw your application character is also not permitted.

We do, however, embrace all kinds of different art forms. Traditional art and pixel art are permitted for applications, so long as they are still recognizable and placed cleanly on the application; please keep in mind that the application pictures must be in color, regardless of method. For those working in traditional art, please try to keep the uniform and armband colors as close to the reference pictures as possible. Animation, videos, comics, and flash are all acceptable in Milizia and will earn you extra Merits.

I have two questions:

1. When saying vehicles, does that include Bicycles, rollers, skates, etc. ? Also, If I want my character to use a high-tech rollerblades that can use it as  his/her personal weapon, can I still draw it wearing it/using it?

2. About the relationships. What about relationships that happen outside the Academy's grounds. Will the students still be punished if they keep their relationships outside the Academy grounds?

That for now. Thanks in advance.
